Aetera began with a simple frustration. Most short term rentals in Rome feel like nowhere in particular, the same white walls and the same stock furniture, regardless of which city you're in. We wanted something else. Homes that actually belong to the buildings they sit in, in neighborhoods that still feel like Rome after the shops close.
Every residence is chosen in person, one at a time. We look for the details that can't be replicated, a vaulted ceiling, an original tiled floor, a window that catches the evening light in a particular way, and we restore around them rather than over them.
The result is a small, growing collection of homes across the historic centre, each one different, each one cared for the way you'd care for your own front door.
